Here's a good idea for a family outing into Seattle, for either a day trip or an overnight excursion. It's the new Star Wars exhibit at the Pacific Science Center. A number of things are on display, including hands-on stuff that the kids will love, as well as authentic gear from the movies, and a lot more. The Hotel Monaco is offering a Star Wars package. When we talk about whale watching here in the Northwest, we usually think of going out on the water in search of Orca whales. But taking a trip to see the migrating gray whales can also be a great time. These are some of the world's biggest creatures, and can really put on a show for you and your family. The Travel Guys are always on the lookout for great experiences close to home, and we sure found one at the Tulalip Casino Hotel in Marysville. The Tulalip Tribe recently added the 370-room luxury hotel to it's casino operations, and it's impressive. Plus you've got the casino itself, entertainment, restaurants, an incredible spa and an outlet mall. whidbey-3

One of the many great things about living here in Western Washington is the fact that you don't have to venture too far to escape the city. If you want to enjoy some island culture, then check out Whidbey Island. Langley and Coupeville are quaint little waterfront towns full of shops, eateries, and things to do. Whidbey also boasts some very fine beaches, and the view from the bridge at Deception Pass linking Whidbey and Fidalgo Island is not to be missed! Tell the Travel Guys about your favorite places to visit by e-mailing us at tminer@973kiro.com and listen for our weekly feature on KIRO-FM, which is also available on podcast.
