Sunday surprises

The Seahawks have been busy in the last 24 hours since announcing their initial 53 man roster. A number of moves have been reported today by players' agents and league sources, and some have yet to be officially confirmed by the team.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, running back Julius Jones and safety Jordan Babineaux have been released. The team has yet to comment on the Julius Jones release, but an announcement is expected shortly.
The Seahawks have confirmed the team has claimed former Packers guard Evan Deietrich-Smith and former Dolphins defensive back Nate Ness off of waivers.
Additionally, the Seahawks have finalized the trade for guard Stacy Andrews with the Philadelphia Eagles as announced yesterday.
Reportedly, fullback Owen Schmitt has been waived and running back Michael Robinson is anticipated to be added to the roster. Robinson spent four seasons with the 49ers organization and attended Penn State.
Defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson has been released as well, per multiple sources. There has been speculation that the Seahawks will sign defensive tackle Junior Siavii to fill the position. Siavii most recently played with the Dallas Cowboys and is a product of the University of Oregon.
The team has claimed quarterback Zac Robinson according to Adam Caplan of FoxSports.com. Robinson is a rookie out of Oklahoma State who was recently released by the New England Patriots.
In addition, the Seahawks have now confirmed the releases of safety Kevin Ellison, center Steve Vallos, recent starter at left tackle, Mansfield Wrotto
In other team news, ESPN's Chris Mortensen has reported that the Seahawks have hired Pat Ruel to replace Alex Gibbs as the offensive line coach. Ruel has both college and NFL coaching experience and spent time at USC with coaches Carroll and Bates.
