Seattle City Councilmember Nick Licata was one of the stronger opponents of previous proposals that could have built an arena and kept the Sonics in town.

He has since apologized for his infamous 2006 contention that losing the Sonics would have "close to zero" cultural impact on the city. Now, he says that on first glance he likes Christopher Hansen's proposal to build an arena in SoDo that could bring the NBA back to Seattle, as well as the NHL.

Bob and Groz share what they took from their conversation with Licata on Friday.

Jesus Montero gave "Bob and Groz" what you might call a safe answer when asked Wednesday about the possibility of moving from catcher to first base or designated hitter.

"I don't know about that. I don't make any decisions. I want to catch; I've been working at it for six years already, so that's what I want to do right now," he said. "I don't make any decisions in the organization, so whatever they want me to do I will do it for them. I will help them at any place, but right now I'm focused on catching right now."

Montero, who was acquired in a trade with the Yankees last month, also talked about the relationship he has formed with fellow catcher Miguel Olivo and his approach to his first spring training with the Mariners.

Bob and Groz give their impressions of Montero after speaking with him for the first time.

In a matter of weeks, Jeremy Lin has gone from a bench player on the verge of getting cut to the biggest story in the NBA.

The undrafted Knicks point guard has averaged 27 points and eight assists in his first four starts while helping New York win five straight games without stars Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire.

And in case you haven't heard, he's also the first American-born NBA player of Chinese or Taiwanese descent.

Bob and Groz discuss in the video below whether that element to the story is being overblown.

Update: Lin scored 27 points and added a career-high 11 assists Tuesday in a win over Toronto, the Knicks' sixth straight.
