The National Weather Service expects the snow level to drop to 600 feet on Saturday night.

"As we head toward Saturday night into Sunday, those snow levels will get down close to sea level so we'll look for a mix of rain and snow showers Saturday night into Sunday," said KING 5's Rich Marriott.

The chance of snow showers continues through Monday with a chance of snow in the forecast Sunday and Monday.

High temperatures over the weekend are only expected to reach the upper 30s.

While University of Washington Atmospheric Science Professor Cliff Mass remains cautious in predicting a snow event in the lowlands, he believes local transportation departments should stock up on salt and de-icer.
